We have a house!

At 5:30 today, woodpijn and I accepted an offer from someone wanting to buy our flat (TheShrubbery), and had an offer accepted that we made on a house.

We have a house!

(Subject to confirmation, mortgages, surveys, etc. As toothycat says, nothing's final until contracts are exchanged. But after most of a year of no offers at all, it's a huge step forward, and feels wonderful.)

The new place is a proper house, not a flat. (We'll no longer have to worry about whether we can put our tumble dryer on late at night!) It's got a nice garden, with a patio bit and a grassy bit. It's got 3 bedrooms, a slightly larger kitchen than currently, and a significantly larger lounge than currently (so we can fit more people in at GamesEvening!)

It's in the same general area as we are now: Arbury, between Gilbert Road and Arbury Road. Which suits us just fine: it's still an easy cycle ride to work, church, and town. It's not buried in a warren of backstreets like some we looked at, so you should all be reasonably able to find it - it's fractionally easier to give directions to than the Shrubbery was, while still not being on a main road.

And, as most houses are, it's on the ground floor. This means we won't have to carry our shopping up two flights of stairs, which we'll rather appreciate; but more importantly, it means we'll be able to get a cat! :)

(Recommendations of places to obtain a cat are welcome. ^.^)

there's a cat sitting in my flat. It followed me in and I don't know what to do with it. It's gone to sleep on my cushions.

It's your master now. You have to do what it wants.

It woke up and left when I started making preparations to go to bed. It glared at me from the landing early this morning.

Oh. I'll just go and sit in the garden and eat worms then.

That won't help.

Nothing will help. So I might as well go and sit in the garden and eat worms.

I'm not even going to comment on how unimpressed the worms are going to be.

Blue Cross cat rescue. My parents have had two pairs from them, over the (many) years.

Wooo! Congatulations!

Are there photos online? Google map links?

And, as most houses are, it's on the ground floor.
That can be easily fixed, just use some elevium.
